The Victorian Building Authority (VBA)

Following on from the last update, this update gives a little bit more information about how the VBA protects both your home and safety.

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) https://www.vba.vic.gov.au regulates and controls home builders in Melbourne and all across Victoria to ensure that all home builders meet strict quality and safety requirements. This is to ensure that all work meets the required standards. These requirements are put in place to ensure the safety of you, your family and your home. 

These are just some of the roles the VBA has in Melbourne and Victoria.

– undertaking inspections, investigations and audits to enforce compliance with relevant legislation

– working with other agencies and regulators to ensure building and plumbing practitioners are compliant and that consumers are protected

– overseeing the work of building surveyors and Victoria’s building permit system.
